Visit the building with your smartphone!

Our Gallery is located in the Cathedral Lock – a unique monument, which is part of the Prussian Poznań Fortress and an example of the 19th-century military and hydrotechnical thought. The building is almost 200 years old and its history will surprise not just enthusiasts of fortifications. The heroes of this story include families, craftsmen, works of art and even animals!

Take your smartphone and visit the Cathedral Lock any day you like. You will find here six stops with recordings. Scan the QR codes located at each of the stops to find out:

  • what a river weir was and why it was built
  • from where soldiers used to fire canons and rifles
  • how many children were born in the fort
  • where you could meet a horse and a Saint Bernard
  • which elements in the cathedral were created in a workshop in the Lock.

The audio tour is free and available at the Śluza Gallery opening times.

Languages: Polish, English

The first stop of the tour is located in the Śluza Gallery’s hall, next to the touch screens.
