Piotr Potworowski, Little Ship, the 1950s/1960s
Piotr Potworowski (1898-1962) was a professor at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznan. His work evolved from landscapes to abstraction, whereas his experiments with form led him to creating sculptures.
The sculpture may be read as a metaphor for the collection, which is not a closed and finished construct but is constantly developing and on the move.
