Eustachy Wasilkowski (1904-1977) was a painter. He focused mainly on the themes of landscape, still life, flowers and city landscape. In 1947 he took up the post of a professor at the State Higher School of Fine Arts. He was connected to the University in Poznan for 30 years. He was the dean of the Faculty of Painting and the director of the Department of Painting.

At the centre of the artist’s work was the world close to the everyday life, which came alive even in this still life, where ordinary objects such as vases, fruit bowls and a bouquet, painted with casual, vibrating brushstrokes, gain a quiet, almost poetic, overtone.
