Bindery. Grzegorz Lewandowski

The Lewandowskis’ bindery has recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. It was established by Bronisław Lewandowski who managed to introduce his three sons to the profession.

‘My grandfather was an excellent businessman, he had a nose for business. He created a comapny which over the years has become a byword for Poznan bindery.’

From the very beginning the company was located in the Old Town. After the whirlwind of the Second World War, in 1950, the bindery was moved to ul. Wroniecka 24. It was there that it enjoyed its biggest success in history.

‘It was our most famous address. Until recently if you asked any Poznan inhabitant where to find a bindery, he or she would surely say: “at ul. Wroniecka”. The bindery was located there until 2006. For 56 years we have been making a name for ourselves as a family business and we identify with this address.’

Currently the bindery is located at ul. Ślusarska. It is run by Grzegorz and his son Mateusz, who belong to the third and the fourth generation of the bookbinding family.
